OUR Program

We like to move mountains!

Below are several different aspects of our program, as well as multiple ways that we seek to meet the spiritual, physical, emotional, and intellectual needs of our Seedsters.

GROUP HOMES

We have two group homes on The Mustard Seed campus, where we house ten women and ten men. Our Group Homes provide a Christian, family-like environment supervised by group home parents and other relief staff who are dedicated to understanding and addressing each Seedster’s individual needs in a loving and nurturing manner. Our group home parents live in our group homes alongside our Seedsters and help our Group Home Seedsters develop important life skills, practice daily hygiene routines, and learn and implement basic relationship skills, all while living in a loving and supportive environment while in the company of their peers and friends.

ART PROGRAM

During our Day Program, our Seedsters participate in a ceramics art program, along with other various art classes of their choosing. Through their art, our Seedsters are not only able to express themselves artistically and show others their creativity and talent, but they are also able to contribute to their own support, thus instilling a great sense of pride and accomplishment. You can find their beautiful artwork throughout our gift shops on a variety of ceramic pieces, as well as many beautiful reproduced items ranging from stationery to makeup bags. Our Seedsters’ one-of-a-kind ceramics and unique gift items are sold both online and in our gift shops and are responsible for bringing in over 23% of our annual income. DAY PROGRAM

The Mustard Seed Day Program provides a Christian, friendship-filled environment supervised and facilitated by a team of nurturing care-giving staff. Our Day Program is Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30 and during this time, the Seedsters participate in a range of recreational, social, and cultural activities led by volunteers and staff members. These fun, exciting activities enrich the Seedsters lives and are made possible by generous contributors and supporters.

“BELLS OF FAITH” HANDBELL CHOIR

Since 1981, our handbell choir has ministered to churches, civic organizations, special events, and a variety of community gatherings across the south. Led by trained musicians and music therapists, The Mustard Seed’s “Bells of Faith” offers an opportunity for our Seedsters to share their faith through leading worship and educating listeners about their abilities rather than their disabilities. OFF-CAMPUS ACTIVITIES

In addition to our weekly “Fun Friday” outings of movies, bowling, museum visits, and more, our Seedsters also participate in a wide range of community events such as Challenger League sports, walk-a-thons, church activities, and other special events held specifically for adults with disabilities.
