VOLUNTEER APPLICATION

Please allow 3-4 weeks for your application to be processed.

As a volunteer, you are an integral part of our mission here at The Mustard Seed. Your time, energy, and compassion help us create a nurturing environment where our Seedsters are able to thrive. Whether you’re leading a fun craft or activity, cheering them on during the Seedster-lympics, or simply spending time with them on a Thursday afternoon, you are making a meaningful impact.

If you have any questions regarding volunteering opportunities, or the application process, please reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator, Miranda Jones, either by phone (601) 992-3556 (ex. 105) or by e-mail [email protected]

Volunteer Testimonials

“Volunteering at The Mustard Seed always ensures that my day is full of joy. Where else can you go where everyone is genuinely happy to see you! The Seedsters are the best.”

Peg Guthrie, Volunteer since 2015

“I love hanging out with the Seedsters because not only does it make them happy; it makes me happy to see them happy! They are always so appreciative of anything you do, whether it’s snack day or stopping by to swim with them! Lots of great memories.”

Melanie Mann, Volunteer since 2019

“Every time I’m at The Mustard Seed, no matter what I’m doing, it has always been a wonderful, joyous experience! I love, love, love the Seedsters and the outstanding staff members. Every time I drive away after I’ve volunteered, I’m always aware that I’ve gotten so much more than I gave!”

Renee Lambert, Volunteer since 2009

“I began my time at The Mustard Seed as a volunteer (very full circle!) with my church youth group back in 2018,and fell in love with the Seedsters. I have worked many positions at The Mustard Seed, but the role of Volunteer Coordinator is one that I have loved every minute of, because I get to work alongside some of the most wonderful people!”

Miranda Jones, Volunteer since 2018

“I started volunteering at The Mustard Seed in 2017. I started out with helping in the gift shop getting Christmas ornaments ready to be displayed, then I started hanging out with the Seedsters more. I was then asked to become a “Special Buddy” to Rebecca Bratley. Rebecca and I hung out just about every week, usually playing checkers and chatting. I now live in North Carolina, so Rebecca and I have switched our weekly hang outs over to FaceTime! Volunteering at The Mustard Seed was and honestly still is one of the best things I’ve ever done. I am so thankful for my time at The Mustard Seed and that I get to continue to feel connected through my weekly chats with Rebecca.”
