Please let us know the days and times you’re available to volunteer. Note: On-campus volunteer opportunities are available Monday through Thursday, between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Our only regular weekend/after-hours volunteer opportunity is preparing and delivering hot meals for our group homes.*

VOLUNTEER POLICIES

Policy Consent*

- General Policies -
• Volunteers must be 16 or older to serve alone. If a volunteer is under the age of 16, they must be accompanied by an adult that is 21 or older.
• We accept community service hours for schools and organizations.
• We cannot provide community service hours for felonies, misdemeanors, infractions (including speeding tickets), or court-ordered service for drug, alcohol, or violence cases.
• Volunteers needing community service hours for school must track their own hours.
• Conduct yourself in a way that reflects Christ and respect everyone on campus.

- Service Credit Options -
• Gift-in-kind donations: 1 hour = $10 (max 10 hours). No tax receipt.
• Meals (homemade or store-bought): 5 hours = 1 meal for 12 people. No tax receipt.

- Procedures -
• Complete a volunteer application online. Staff will review and contact you regarding your application.
• Sign in and out at the gift shop each day (the first building you see when you arrive on campus).
• Stay out of staff-only areas unless instructed by a staff member to do otherwise.
• No running, throwing, or bouncing balls indoors.
• In emergencies, follow staff guidance. Group leaders are responsible for their group.

- Social Media & Content -
• Photography is encouraged, but before posting, please be sure that the photos share our Seedsters in the best light possible. If the photo is one that you wouldn't want posted of yourself, please do not post it of our Seedsters. Please tag The Mustard Seed in any posts you share!
• Share photos and videos with the Volunteer Coordinator.
• No private communication with Seedsters on social media.

- Working with Seedsters -
• Let staff handle behavioral issues. Report concerns to them.
• To write a Seedster, mail to:

• Do not influence Seedster's art. Encourage their own creativity.
• All food and gifts must be approved by staff.
• With the exception of the Special Buddy Program, always interact with Seedsters in groups of 2 or more.
• Respect Seedsters’ sensory needs (sight, sound, touch).
